Introduction

Green Forest Endurance Run 2021 (GFE21) is a 12 hours endurance race in a virgin forest setting within the Bukit Bintang Forest Reserve, Perlis

The Race

YOU AGAINST YOURSELF! 12 hours, 6 hours or 3 hours, make your choice. Complete the minimum distance and break your boundaries within the stipulated hours.

RUN GREEN AND BE SEEN! Challenge yourself to see exactly how far you can run in the set amount of time. You can run for the whole hours or take a walk break in between. Each time you pass the Start/Finish line, you will have time to reenergize yourself with food, drinks or simply change you’re running attire.

An area will be provided for yourself and your ‘support crew’ to assist with your personal needs and to provide moral support.

This is a GREEN EVENT. We will be promoting environmental friendly event and your support towards the campaign is highly appreciated.

We will also be strictly following the current PKPP SOP set by MKN and the number of participants are limited and all relevant SOP will be adhere to.

Race Course

+/- 4km tarmac loop with 30% nature trail terrain. It is a scenic route covered by tree canopies with routes lined by virgin trees and cool stream.

Lap & Breaks

Participants can take a break anytime at any point but a lap will only be counted as you have pass the start/finish line.

Water Stations

There will be 2 water stations along the route. Free flow food for 12 and 6 hours runners will only be served at the start/finish line area. Runners will also be provided with an area for their own food, drinks and personal items. As we are promoting GREEN AWARENESS, drinking cups will not be provided at water station, please BRING YOUR OWN CUP / BOTTLE (BYOB).

Cut-off Time

Runners can set out on a final lap as long as they can reach the finishing line before cut-off time and the final lap will be counted into the final result.

Event Cancellation

If the event has to be cancelled, the organiser have the right to postpone to another date not later than six (6) months from event date. Participants have the option to:
  1. Participate in the later date with all entitlements remains as offered, or;
  2. Do cancellation before 21st February 2021 and 80% of the registration fees (not including Admin Fee) will be refunded or 90% of the registration fees will be transferred to PUTRA 2021 as partial fees payment, or;
  3. Do cancellation from 27th February 2021 to 24th March 2021 and 35% of the registration fees (not including Admin Fee) will be refunded together with the registration pack and finisher entitlement or 40% of the registration fees will be transferred to PUTRA 2021 as partial fees payment.

Rules & Regulations

  1. Race bib must be worn and visible in front at all times during the race.
  2. Do not cause any damages to trees, plants or buildings along the route.
  3. Participants are responsible for themselves and will be participating in this race at their own risk.
  4. Race director reserves the right to cancel the race in the event of natural disasters or extreme weather, including (not limited to) thunderstorm and landslide.
  5. Do not litter. Kindly carry your trash and dispose them at the bins provided at each water station.
  6. Prohibited Actions that will result in disqualification.
    • Taking shortcuts and/or running off the track.
    • Cheating (e.g. using other means of transportation, using substitute runners, and other unlawful actions)
    • Continuing to run after the cut-off times.
    • Doping and the use of prohibited drugs.
    • Bib exchange without updating the organizer on the latest runner's information. Participants are not allowed to proceed the race with the race bib carrying other participant's information, due to safety reasons during emergencies.
  7. All winner will be verified with the original IC or passport.

General Responsibilities of the Participant

  1. Understand the requirements of competing in a long endurance distance running race. You will be running an endurance and have undertaken the necessary training to compete in such a race.
  2. Fully fit to undertake the distance.
  3. Fully aware that personal safety and wellbeing depends on own skills and abilities.
  4. Respect other participants and official and race course assistant.

Facilities for Out-of-State Participants

We are in the midst of arranging local pickup services from train and bus stations for arriving participants to the event venue and official accommodation. Accommodation, transportation and local guided tours will also be offered as part of our services. We strive to provide the best running holiday experience for our participants.
